Four young DemoDAIRY Foundation award winners have returned after learning about the challenges and strengths of New Zealand’s dairy industry during a five-day study tour.
Max Bond, Cooriemungle, Jack Hutt, Bostocks Creek, Sam Kermond, Nullawarre, and William Rea, Allansford, received scholarships from the DemoDAIRY Foundation to take part in the five-day tour.
All were excellent representatives of the western district dairy industry and gained a lot of experiences from the trip.
They visited five dairy farms, a sheep milking farm and a newly established kiwifruit orchard on one of the dairy farms, along with a morning at the LIC Newstead facility.
Thanks to LIC who did an excellent job of the travel arrangements and organising and running the farm visits.
