Wangoom’s Ella Titmus has encountered everything from horses and goats to native Australian wildlife in her veterinary science studies at James Cook University Townsville, supported by a DemoDAIRY Foundation tertiary scholarship.
Over the past year Ella has studied cattle, sheep and pig viruses, spent time at a cattle station, completed clinical examination practicals with horses and goats and had animal handling placements at a chicken plant, genetics company, sheep and bull farm and Warrnambool Wildlife Encounters.
“The DemoDAIRY scholarship allowed me to secure accommodation which alleviated substantial financial stress and allowed me to devote my time to study and practical placements,” Ella said.
She has also purchased an iPad thanks to the scholarship.
“I truly appreciate all that DemoDAIRY has done for me and the result it has had on my studies.”
