Wouldn’t we all love a dog who did everything we asked?
Peter Crothers from Wangoom has come up with an idea for a “Robo Dog” to help out on farms.
Although just in the concept phase, the Robodog won a farm encouragement award to further develop an idea in the Dairy Innovation Challenge.
The fully autonomous robotic dog would be set on a ride-on lawn mower body with a robot GPS tracked from a central computer at the dairy.
It could solve problems such as wasted time bringing cows to the dairy twice per day while providing more accurate indication of pasture production.
Judges like the idea. “We encourage the creativity and aspirational reaches of this concept to harness the potential of digital technologies to improve the efficiencies across the dairy farm,” they said.
