Maggie has been working with dairy industry, other agricultural industries and community organisations through her consulting business – Directions Projects, since 1989. She was the Inaugural Executive Officer of WestVic Dairy Inc. established to provide local farmer and community guidance and inputs to dairy research, development and extension activities for the South-West Victorian dairy industry. She was a key player in establishing and running the dairy focus farm project which has been replicated across other dairy regions.
In NSW, she managed the RTO FarmCare Training NSW, and was coordinator for risk management training ChemCert NSW She also organised an AgriFood Industries annual Conference in central western NSW and several ChemCert NSW Conferences and was Coordinator for NSW Farmer Association GST Education Project in NSW
Since returning to Port Fairy, she has coordinated major community events including 2008 and 2009 series of Winter Weekends in Port Fairy and worked for Moyne Health Services in Port Fairy for several years in several areas including coordinating the annual Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay raising funds for health services across the State.
She is a current director of the Port Fairy Community Bank and is a senior local Red Cross emergency co-ordinator.
She work with husband Ralph coordinating and training Personal Development and Team Dynamics Sessions for Australian Teams on-shore with corporate groups and off-shore in far flung places including Central Australia, Thailand, Kazakhstan and cross culturally in PNG.
In her spare time, is studying to qualify for Lifestyle and Leisure Coordinator. Special interests include: Adventure travel to live in, and learn of other cultures. Extreme activities such as long distance cycling, skydiving, white & black water rafting.
Advocating for our rural people through my involvement with the DemoDairy Foundation dispersing funds via scholarships and other programs and projects towards enhanced opportunities.
