Scholarships
All scholarship awardees will be selected using the processes of the co-operating institutions (RIST, South West TAFE, Longerenong College, Deakin University) and other organisations which the Foundation invites to be part of the scholarship program.
All enquiries regarding scholarships should be directed to the institution the applicant will be attending during their studies.
Application Form
Grants
Grants will be assessed through two streams.
By Foundation partners. At least two foundation partners have regular recognition and/or award activities in which a long list of potential awardees are screened / assessed to select winners in each award section.
Where these awards take account of dairy farm business management and operations, the successful awardees will be invited to submit proposals for a grant to implement an activity that meets the objectives of the DemoDAIRY Foundation. The application form developed by the Foundation should be used, if possible. Where requested, the Foundation will provide support for applicants to clarify and prepare a proposal for an award.
The Foundation can provide resources to judge the recognition/award activities and would provide input to the final award selection process.
Current Foundation partners are WestVic Dairy and the Simpson District Lions Club.
Direct Applications. Individuals and organisations are invited to submit proposals for grants under the following areas – 1. Dairy business management projects; 2. Innovation grants of up to $5,000; 3. Capacity development grants, and: 4. Emerging issues grants.
In the first instance, possible applicants should contact the Secretary and /or board members to discuss the grant concept and determine the most time-effective way to proceed with an application.
Important aspects that direct applications need to address are:
- How many dairy farmers would directly benefit through the grant activities?
- What contributions are being made to the total cost of the activity by the implementing farmer or group and other outside co-operators or sponsors (in cash or kind)?
- How will the learnings from the activity be transferred to other dairy farmers or dairy service providers could benefit from the activity?
When appropriate, the Foundation will provide support to developing the grant application and interacting with other potential funding agencies to ensure a cost-effective proposal.
Please review our application form before commencing initial discussions with the Foundation and then complete and return the form to the Foundation.
